Explore the immersive artworks on view as part of Project 1 from the unique perspective of your bike seat. Pedal Project 1 is a guided bike tour featuring stops at each site location (Downtown, MLK Park, and Tanglefoot) as well as an extended visit to the African American Art & Music Festival.

Grand Rapids African American Arts and Music Festival
Hall is the Co-Founder of Slow Roll Detroit and Founder of his newest venture RiDetroit. Slow Roll is one of the largest weekly bicycle rides in the world. Slow Roll brings 6,000 people a week together to enjoy Detroit. RiDetroit works with smaller more intimate groups to connect with the city on a deeper level. RiDetroit has been named the Official tour guide of Murals in the Markets walking and biking tours.
Before devoting his work fulltime to Slow Roll and other Detroit Mobility initiatives Jason was an Associate Director for WDIV Local 4. He has written for Real Detroit and the Metrotimes. He has appeared in the television shows The Detroiters, HBO’s Togetherness, Viceland’s The Pizza Show and The Amazing Race. Recently he was spotlighted in Michael Bolton’s movie American Dream:Detroit. He has also appeared in ad campaigns for The Henry Ford, The Detroit Pistons and Pure Michigan. He has worked with over 30 charities and Co Chaired the American Heart Association Heart Ball in 2017.
Johannah Jelks 32, Founder of She Rides Her Own Way. A Grand Rapids community organizer who promotes biking and daily inspiration among women, featured in Glamour Magazine’s online feature “Hometown Heroes: 50 Phenomenal Women of the Year who are Making a Difference”. I live in the East Hills neighborhood where mobility and community are essential. I have two small dogs Arch Bishop Tutu & Miles Davis.
