Accessibility

The ArtPrize organization strives to connect visitors of all ages, abilities and backgrounds to the world of art. We believe the most captivating conversations happen when our audience reflects the true diversity of our community. We invite you to give us feedback that we will take into consideration when planning future events. Please contact becca@artprize.org.

We are excited you are joining us. If you have questions about accessibility or would like to request an accommodation in order to fully participate in events, please contact our team at events@artprize.org.

Considerations

A special thanks to Steelcase our Diversity, Equity and inclusion sponsor for helping ArtPrize continue its commitment to creating accessible and inclusive programming for all. Below are a few partnerships and collaborations that make this work possible.

Accessibility audit

Through a partnership with DisArt, we are developing best practices and solutions for how to best design and communicate to those that experience a disability.
DisArt provides discussions, workshops, and presentations as a way of incorporating disability into the existing fabrics of a professional community.

Capacity building

ArtPrize staff continues to receive capacity building and empathy training to understand our own unconscious bias and gain insight from our interactions. Thank you to WMCAT for facilitating this training this year.

Our volunteer program provides a series of workshops and learning opportunities centered around equity, inclusion and accessibility to provide a welcoming environment to our visitors. Volunteer Page found here.

Belonging West Michigan Initiative
